How to see files on my local laptop"s drive within Virtual Guest

I want to be able to see files that are on my local laptop's C drive. Where
can I find documentation on how to set this up? Also my network card is
disabled. What are the steps to define a virtual NIC.

Shared Folders isn't an option for Virtual Server.
Since you're a newbie and using a laptop, you might consider Virtual
PC instead. It has Shared Folders built in, and other features that
are handy when working directly with the VM, like the file drag and
drop capability between the host and VM. Virtual Server doesn't have
this.

If your network card in the laptop is disconnected, you cannot base
virtual networking on that NIC.

To set up networking between host and guest you can install a Microsoft
Loopback Adapter in the host and network between the NIC in the virtual
machine and the loopback adapter on the host. Then use normal network file
sharing between host and guest.
