automatic updates auto restart stalls on reboot .. help?

Message:

I have some Virtual Servers.. where they will get the updates.. install them
automatically.. then do the whole auto reboot thing..

I have the GPO set to not auto restart (but this only applies if a user is
logged in)..

For some reason on some of my virtual servers, they get "Stuck".. ie: i goto
the virtual server web interface and click on the server... it then shows the
remote window.. in it.. the server says.. "preparing to shutdown".. even
though its the next day.. so essentially it gets stuck here.

So either a way to stop auto restarts when not logged in or a fix for these
stuck virtual servers?

Any thoughts?

Thanks
