Yes, it is possible to run Windows Server 2008 x86 inside of a VM of Virtual
Server.
I recommend to install the latest VM Addition inside of the VM.

Fritz, how can you expect to run a virtual instance of Server 2008 on a
Server 2003 computer without having some kind of virtualization product
