SCVMM cannot create Template

Message:

I am using SCVMM and currently have one host which is Virtual Server 2005 R2
SP1 on Windows 2003 SP2 32 Bit. The SCVMM server is on Windows 2003 SP2 64
Bit. I have discovered all my VMs and can create snapshopts, have the self
service portal running etc.. However when i try and create a template i get
the following error in Job Viewer (i have the VM switched off after having
done a sysprep first) -

Error (3101)
Detailed Error (Internal error code: 0x80990C1D)
VMM failed to mount VHD file
W:\VirtualServer\Machines\WinXPSP2IE7\WinXPSP2IE7\WINXPSP2IE6-CPT-2008-03-11T09-12-03-01-OF-01.vhd
on the <servername> server. A timeout occurred.

Recommended Action
Ensure that Microsoft Virtual Server Storage Bus is installed and
functional. Restart Virtual Disk Service, and then try the operation again.

On the SCVMM server i have gone to a command prompt and gone to the VHDMount
directory. I can successfully mount a VHD. However in device manager it
comes up as a MICROSOFT VIRTUAL SERVER STORAGE DEVICES. I assume that for
the template to be created i need that device to be the MICROSOFT VIRTUAL
SERVER STORAGE BUS. If i try and update the driver and point to the
vhdbus.inf file in the vhdmount directory it does not change the device. I
have even done the update and then restarted the Virtual Disk Service but
this does not work.

My questions are -
1) should the device definitely be using the storage bus driver?
2) does the storage bus driver actually work on 64 bit?
3) If so how do i successully update the device to use the storage bus
driver?

Many Thanks
