For those who have Intel-based Macs... (2)

[I sort of let that one go prematurely when I wrote it... this is the
continuation of the original post.]

When you make your virtual machine, tell Virtual PC 2007 which operating
system is going to most likely appear on the virtual machine you copied
over. Then, tell it to use an existing virtual hard disk, which would
probably be called BaseDrive inside the vpc7 package directory that forms
the virtual machine file in the PowerPC-based Mac, as follows:

<VirtMachName>.vpc7/Disk1.vhdp/BaseDrive

Once Windows has the virtual hard disk, you can complete creating the
virtual machine and try booting it!

The last step will be to update your Virtual Machine Additions in the newly
created virtual machine*. To do this, tell Virtual PC 2007 to mount the
VMAdditions.iso file, at:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Virtual PC\Virtual Machine
Additions\VMAdditions.iso

and proceed with the installation that starts (or double-click the CD-ROM
drive in My Computer if it does not start automatically). Reboot your
virtual machine, and presto... you have just migrated your old virtual
machine to your Intel-based Mac!

Problems? You can post some responses in microsoft.public.mac.virtualpc if
it relates to migrating your virtual machine. All other problems such as
Virtual PC 2007 usage etc. should be posted in microsoft.public.virtualpc
instead. Hope this works for you!

Cheers!
