Hi, I have hardware virtualization enabled in my BIOS, and I'm running a
Intel Core 2 Quad with Vista 32bit.

Am I missing something? It just says my machine doesn't support it.

Yes, in in the Virtual PC 2007 settings, the Hardware virtualization option
is greyed out. I've enabled it in BIOS and rebooted, but it never comes on. I
have an Abit IP35 Pro with a Q6600 processor. Does VPC work properly on Vista?

Hmm.. I will have to assume that when you say "...enabled it in BIOS
and rebooted", you have actually cold restarted the box.

Which Vista version are you running anyways? I am not aware of any VPC
2007 related problems in this configuration :(

You were correct.... I needed to actually completely shut down and start up.
Simply rebooting apparently doesn't work.

It sounds like a BIOS issue, you'll have to wait for another update.

In the meantime, the fix is to not use sleep, either use hibernate, or
shut the machine all the way down.

Even worse: on my system I do get Hardware Virtualization enabled after=20
a cold reboot so my processor (Core 2 6700) and Bios/motherboard (Intel=20
DG695WH) do support it.
However, each time I put my machine in sleep mode and resume it the next=20
day VPC tells me that Hardware Virtualization is not avaiable. I have to=20
do a cold reboot to get it back.

I have updated my Bios to the most recent version of March 2008 but that=20
did not help.

Anyone got a solution for that?

Hello.

I experienced the same problem with an other Intel Desktop Board, a DG33TL.

I solved it with Intel customer service and here is the solution :

"Thank you for contacting Intel(R) Technical Support. We understand you are
having problems with Intel(R) Virtualization Technology. Remove the RTC (Real
Time Clock) battery and leave it out for 20 minutes. After this period of
time, insert the battery back in and turn the system back on; if it displays
POST messages, go into BIOS Setup Utility by pressing <F2> during the boot
process. Once in the BIOS setup utility, press <F9> to restore BIOS default
settings. Reset any customized BIOS settings. Clear all DMI event logs, which
are located in the Advanced/Event Log Configuration section of the BIOS Setup
utility. Press <F10> to save the new settings and reboot the system".
