Vista Installation Error

Message:

Hi. In my XPsp2 laptop, I have virtual pc 2007. I had vista on the laptop,
but it was aggravating me with performance, so I went back to xp. Now I
would like to install vista in the virtual environment so I did the clean
install with my upgrade pc without the license number. It boots fine and I
can get on the internet OK, all that good stuff. Now with the upgrade disk,
I upgrade the vista install with the upgrade including the license number as
noted here ->
http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/winvista_upgrade_clean.asp I have done
this on my laptop before without issues. However, after the upgrade
installs and I get to almost the end, it reboots with the message booting
your pc for the first time (something like that), I get back to upgrading
widows, completing install and a window pops up "Windows could not configure
one or more system components. To install windows, restart the computer and
then restart the installation." It then rollsback. I have tried this
several times, no joy. Any advice? The laptop has run vista fine in the
past and I even think I had it on virtualpc before, but for some reason, I
cannot get past this today. THanks
