I created a Virtual PC with XP Sp1, on laptop (vpc2007) with Duo and
moved the vpc to a desktop (AMD-less than month old) also vpc2007
installed. The machine will boot but just keep rebooting.

Any idea?

Both of the host OS are vista, the vpc is xp sp1 and the only diff is
the cpu from computer to computer.

btw, I move vms back and forth between machines with AMD64, AMD64 Athlon x2,
Core Duo, and Core 2 Quad routinely and never have had to do anything. Why
don't you create another vm and repeat the move to see if it happens again?
Maybe the vm files got corrupted during the transfer the first time.

Try booting into safe mode once, it should work, then it may be able
to boot correctly after that.

It was always my understanding the CPU was Virtual also, should not
matter the platform as long as its on Windows. However, I know Vmware
esx has issues between base CPU's. Is there a definitive answer if
the CPU is virtual or not?

Ill try to copy the file again and see what happens. I burned it to a
cd and copied it to the target PC and no luck. But Ill try again in
case the cd was corrupt?

Also ran into another interesting issue on VISTA, if fast user
switching is enabled and another user is "logged in", VPC2007 install
will fail with error 1335 and tell you the product.cab is corrupt.
Rebooting computer and ensuring only one user is logged in resolves
the issue.

That's actually a complicated question, especially when VT is
involved, but for the purposes of this discussion, no, it's not
virtual, VPC and ESX have the same problem because of the same reason.
